To be seen and heard is something every child needs. To grow up with the emotional safety to be exactly as they are, without proving any worth.
To be seen and heard is something we all need among friends and loved ones. To be seen as who we are and heard when in joy or in pain. To matter and be validated (not necessarily agreed with!) is essential to our wellbeing.
These days we need this sensitivity and awareness more than ever.
We need the community as we are facing a world in which Being Seen and Heard has sadly an entirely different meaning.
Big tech without guard rails, big tech without accountability, big tech without interest in the long reaching effect of its content, its manipulation and even worse its unrelenting “eyes and ears” that record everything. The tech billionaires that have not only not paid their fair share in taxes or treat their workers fairly have become a menace to the sense of safety and privacy in our everyday life.
In the totalitarian system that not only the US is on the fast track to turn into, being seen and heard could potentially make us an enemy of the state.
Our life is eternally dual.
Beauty and Terror at every step.
Art will transform,
Will hold, allows to speak and hear , flies under the radar…
